U.S. Economy Added 313K Jobs in February, Strongest Month in Trump Era

The U.S. economy added 313,000 jobs in February, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Friday.

It’s the strongest individual month for job growth so far in the Trump era (January 2017 – present), the strongest month since July 2016 (+325,000 jobs), and the seventh-strongest month out of 122 months BLS has tracked since January 2008.

The 313,000-job month crushed the expectations of analysts at both CNBC and Yahoo! Finance:

It’s the ninth time in 14 months that the U.S. has added 200,000 jobs or more in a month.

It’s also another strong month of job creation under President Trump. The U.S. added 2.05 million jobs in 2017. With the January and Februaruy reports, that’s 2.60 million jobs created in the U.S. since President Trump took office.

President Trump has pledged to add 25 million jobs overall in the next 10 years.
