VIDEO: Farrakhan Victim-Blames Mike Tyson’s Accuser in ’93 Doc

"I mean how many times, sisters, have you said no, and you mean yes all the time?" Louis Farrakhan said at a "Free Mike Tyson" rally in 1991.

Just last week, The Washington Post excoriated Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) for lying about his close ties and ongoing relationship with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, an infamous hatemonger, and anti-Semite. Another member of Congress was forced to defend his relationship with Farrakhan, claiming he recently spoke to the leader about discrimination against women. And just a few days ago, it was revealed that the anti-Trump “Women’s March” organizers also have close ties to Farrakhan.

But a recently unearthed clip in which Farrakhan victim-blamed the woman who accused boxer former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson of rape could be the last straw for Democrats who continue to defend him.

In July 1991, Tyson was arrested for the rape of 18-year-old Desiree Washington. After Tyson’s arrest, several of his defenders held a “Free Mike Tyson” rally in Indianapolis. One of the speakers at that event was Farrakhan.

Footage of Farrakhan speaking at the rally was captured in the 1993 documentary, “Fallen Champ: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson.

“She said, ‘No, Mike, no!'” Farrakhan said, imitating Washington.

“I mean how many times, sisters, have you said no and you mean yes all the time?” Farrakhan continued.

“Wait, wait, wait, I am talking to women now. We’re going to talk now,” Farrakhan said, pounding his fist on the podium. “See, the day of the BS is all over. You’re not dealing with a man that don’t know you and the damn deceitful games you play.”

Tyson was eventually convicted of rape and sentenced to 10 years in prison, but was released from prison after only three years.

The film’s director Barbara Kopple in 1993 told the Washington Post:

“After shooting footage of Louis Farrakhan at a Free Mike Tyson Rally in Indianapolis, Kopple canceled her interview with the Nation of Islam leader. “I didn’t think I needed it,” she explains. “Fallen Champ” catches Farrakhan in a vitriolic tirade, denouncing women for “the deceitful games you play.”

“There’s a tremendous anger and hatred of women” in Farrakhan, says Kopple. “And there’s lots more {footage} where that came from. He just really went off on women and Desiree Washington … almost as if she was a piece of bait that somebody had let out. I was shocked listening to it, and it takes a lot to shock me. I usually go with the punches of almost anything and try to figure out where it came from and why. This just stopped me in my tracks.”

Several Congressional Democrats including Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) have come under scrutiny for their ties to Farrakhan, who in the past has called the Jewish people his “enemy,” “satanic,” and claimed the Jewish people are responsible for “filth and degenerate behavior,” while also praising Adolf Hitler as a “very great man.”

The Daily Caller reported on the ties these Democrats have to Farrakhan:

“California Reps. Maxine Waters and Barbara Lee, Illinois Rep. Danny Davis, Indiana Rep. Andre Carson, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, New York Rep. Gregory Meeks and Texas Rep. Al Green have all attended meetings with Farrakhan while in Congress, according to photos, videos and witness accounts of the meetings reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.”

In a recent interview, Rep. André Carson (D-IN) defended his ties to Farrakhan and even claimed that he met with Farrakhan to discuss “discrimination against women.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has called on DNC Chair Tom Perez to address Ellison’s “pattern of lies surrounding his relationship with Louis Farrakhan,” to seemingly no avail.

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) has called on Democratic members of Congress with ties to Farrakhan to resign after it was reported they had met with the highly controversial leader.
