Warren Hangs Dem Colleague Out to Dry

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is abandoning one of her Massachuetts congressional colleagues in his most desperate hour of political need. According to The Boston Globe, neither Warren nor Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) will endorse Rep. Mike Capuano (D-MA) in his tough primary fight against Boston City Council member Ayanna Pressley.

Warren claims that she doesn’t get involved in Massachusetts primaries, the Globe reported. That’s the excuse she’s using to leave Capuano to his own devices in his fight against Pressley.

But her record tells a different story.

For instance, she endorsed Rep. John Tierney (D-MA) against Democratic challenger Seth Moulton in 2014. Tierney lost his bid for reelection.

And Warren even endorsed Boston Mayor Marty Walsh as recently as 2017, in his race against Boston City Council member Tito Jackson.

As Capuano faces a charge from the left this primary season, he may want a more satisfying explanation for Warren’s silence. Her current answer just doesn’t match the facts.
