Warren Trails Both Biden & Sanders in Home State Presidential Primary Poll

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is trailing both former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in a new UMass Amherst poll among Democratic and Independent voters in Massachusetts when asked who they would vote for in a 2020 Democratic presidential primary.

Politico first reported on the UMass poll, which will be released Wednesday afternoon.

According to Politico:

“In a primary match-up, former Vice President Joe Biden leads with 19 percent, Sen. Bernie Sanders is in second with 14 percent and Warren has 11 percent. Close behind is Rep. Beto O’Rourke with 10 percent.”

The UMass poll is just the latest poll that shows Massachusetts voters aren’t all that enthusiastic about their senior senator running for president in 2020.

In October, a WBUR poll showed 63 percent of likely voters in Massachusetts didn’t think that Warren should run for president in 2020, while just 22 percent thought she should.
