Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) walked away from a press gaggle in which she addressed a Washington Post report that showed Warren had identified herself as an “American Indian” in 1986. Warren’s decision to walk away from the gaggle coincided with a reporter asking her whether she had considered dropping out of the 2020 presidential race.

The Washington Post reported on Tuesday that Warren identified herself as an “American Indian” on her 1986 registration for the State Bar of Texas.

Warren attempted to address the controversy on Wednesday by making a public apology and answering some questions from reporters.

One reporter asked Warren whether she had considered dropping out of the 2020 presidential race in light on the Washington Post report.

Warren did not acknowledge the question and walked away from the press gaggle.

“Wow,” CNN’s Brooke Baldwin said after watching the interaction.

Warren is expected to formally launch her 2020 presidential campaign this weekend in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
