Will McCaskill Change Her Tune? Missouri Solar Company to Hire More Vets Because of GOP Tax Law

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) might find her vote against the Republican tax bill even more problematic this November now that a local Missouri solar company announced it would hire more veterans because of the law.

Sun Solar, a solar panel manufacturing company located in Springfield, MO, announced on Monday that it would be “adding 30 new jobs thanks to a corporate tax rate cut championed by President Donald Trump.”

According to the Springfield News-Leader:

“Sun Solar employed about 100 people at the start of 2018, 17 percent of whom are U.S. military veterans. The release said Sun Solar wants to increase that percentage to 25 percent.”

The company directly credits its expansion to “the corporate tax rate … being slashed from 35 percent to 21 percent.”

McCaskill, who is considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats running for reelection in 2018, voted against the GOP tax bill and has bashed it repeatedly since it was signed into law.

Now, that the GOP tax law is starting to benefit hardworking Missourians, however, will a vulnerable McCaskill change her tune?
