Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), a year after suffering catastrophic wounds during the 2017 congressional baseball shooting, returned to the field Thursday night in the 2018 edition of the congressional game.

And he made a spectacular return, fielding the ball on the first pitch of the game and securing the game’s first out.

His teammates swarmed around him to celebrate his return.
